I booked Saint Kate because a friend described it as "a hotel that actually has a personality" and that turned out to be exactly right. You walk in and there's a bronze horse statue in the lobby, live music already going, and a gift shop with things you actually want to look at. It takes about thirty seconds to realize this is not a standard downtown hotel stay. The room had a record player with a small vinyl selection, a ukulele hanging on the wall, colored pencils and a sketchbook on the desk, and original artwork that came with a little pamphlet explaining the artists. None of it felt gimmicky. It felt like someone thought carefully about every object in the space and then put it there on purpose. The bed was genuinely comfortable and the room was quiet, which matters more than the fun stuff when it's actually time to sleep. We ate at Proof Pizza one night, which is their counter-service spot on the ground floor. Neapolitan style, well done, good for a casual meal without leaving the building. The Upper Bar on the roof has river views and is worth at least one drink just to sit up there. We also had breakfast at The Studio and the sourdough alone was worth coming down for.The location puts you close to the theater district, the RiverWalk, Fiserv Forum, all of it. Walkable in a way that downtown Milwaukee doesn't always get credit for. Staff was warm from check-in through checkout, and they handed us champagne when we arrived which set the tone.If you're going to Milwaukee and you care even a little about design or art or just staying somewhere that feels distinct, this is the one.

I planned a weekend getaway in Milwaukee and we chose to stay at Saint Kate. By far, the experience we had there was very unique, modern and very innovative. The vibe they tried to capture centers around music and art. They nailed the aesthetics flawlessly. The rooms were very clean, modern, beautiful art and the best feature was an LP player! We were allowed to grab some vinyl records in the lobby and bring them up to our room. The setup came with instructions to follow, 3 minutes and you were jamming out. The main lobby is very immersive with the elevators being right next to the bar and large lounge area. You feel like a Rockstar coming out of the elevators during peak times. The hotel is attached to the Pabst theatre which was a strong plus for us. The location of the hotel puts it within walking distance to many of downtowns main attractions. You will not go wrong staying here. If you have your own vinyl, I strongly recommend bringing your collection to play in your room.

Amazing doesn't begin to describe this place. The location, the bar, the rooms, the coffee/water station on each floor. Girlfriend loved the in-room ukulele. The brunch tomorrow will be amazing, we're certain. We can't wait to come back. THANK YOU!!!!

Was very happy to spend my wedding night in this hotel. It’s very special to my wife and it certainly lived up to expectations. Tobi at the front desk set the tone immediately by being very welcoming and happy to help us as we checked in. Checking on my emails, she was also the person who answered my email about making the visit nice for my wife, and entering our room we were not disappointed. Thank you very much. We went to the lobby bar twice and were taken extremely good care of by Lisa and Ruben between those two occasions. They knew how to make mean drinks and answered every question I had. We also enjoyed a very tasty breakfast at The Studio where Karli, Jared, and Abigail were all incredibly welcoming and good at their jobs and seemed to go that extra mile helping each other out running food and such. I would of course love to thank housekeeping for ensuring our room was spotless when we entered, which really made me all the more inclined to play the same three notes from Fur Elise over and over until I was politely asked to stop by my new wife. Beyond that, I really enjoy what they’ve done with the art in the building. As someone heavily involved in documenting various art scenes around the world, it was very enjoyable getting to explore the available art. Having spent several nights in the building before it was Saint Kate, I had a great deal of respect for what they’ve done have done with the place. Will definitely be finding an excuse to stay again, and will also be recommending it to several artists and more importantly family members when they come to stay. As far as hotels in the downtown Milwaukee area goes, it definitely hard to beat this location.

A+ experience here from start to finish. I actually had an issue with my itinerary and Nacho was extremely accommodating in solving a mistake I had made when initially booking. Our Premier King High Floor room was wonderful- but the main attraction was beyond our door, in the lobby where we found a wonderful small art gallery accompanied by live music coming from the bar area. Convenient location and unmatched customer service (Nacho and Lennox at reception) will bring me back here whenever i’m in Milwaukee.

We absolutely loved this hotel! Stayed here for Valentine’s Day and it was wonderful. Hotel staff were so kind and welcoming. We received free champagne at check in and in our room for the holiday! The hotel is super cute and has lots of unique details that make it feel artsy and special. Great espresso martini at the bar. Walkable to MKEbrathouse and a few other spots. Would 100% stay again!

Loved this hotel. Feels like staying in an art gallery with a great local and posh bar in the lobby. Rooms were clean and cozy. There was an LP player with some vinyls for us to play along with a ukulele and instructions to play. The location was perfect. We were seeing a performance at the Pabst Theatre and there is an inside, direct entrance to the theatre from the lobby so we didn't even have to go outside. Had a healthy and delicious breakfast at The Studio the following morning with a beautiful view of the streets of Milwaukee. I wouldn't consider staying anywhere but this place if I travel here in the future.

I had locked up cool pet friendly hotels in Milwaukee for my 30th birthday and the Saint Kate hotel caught my eye. I loved the fact they had record players in each room, along with a ukulele. Each room was decorated with care, instead of just being a plain hotel room. Staying at the Saint Kate was everything I hoped for. I loved the art pieces around the hotel, and the live music in the lobby. For my 30th Birthday the staff even sent up a little gift along with a whole bottle of champagne. I got breakfast the next morning at the 2nd floor restaurant, and the food was great. I highly recommend staying here.
